Contemporary garden in Bourne

Project Brief:

We were approached by this client who had purchased a new-build house on the popular Elsea Park development in Bourne. The builders had left the garden turfed, which presented a blank canvas for Stuart to provide a modern design for.

The garden is south facing so there was a need for some shade over seating in different areas and it was also requested that the garden be designed with low maintenance in mind.

Elements of the Project:

• A design created by Stuart in line with the client’s requirements and making the most of the south facing aspect
• Painting of the existing fence to an anthracite grey and installation of batten panelling in front of selected areas to create a more contemporary feel
• Construction of four raised beds at different heights, rendered in a pre-coloured render. The largest bed encloses a bespoke built-in sleeper bench. One of the other beds incorporates a chrome blade water feature
• Installation of an aluminium pergola with louvered roof over a slightly sunken porcelain plank seating area
• Turfing
• Planting plan put together by Stuart
• Plants sourced and planted
